Learn about the exposure triangle, what each setting does, and how to balance them to achieve a properly exposed image in any situation.
September 10 - Directing and Posing
Learn how to recognize flattering angles, give directions to a subject, and create non-boring poses that look natural.
September 17 - Fundamentals of Lighting
Learn the fundamental principles of light, such as the difference between hard and soft light, the benefits and detriments of each, and how to make a hard light source into a soft light source.
September 24 - Using Flash Like a Pro
Learn how to create portraits using off camera flash (OCF). We'll take the mystery out of how to get the right settings in your camera, and create easy portrait lighting setups.
October 1 - Pricing and Processes
Learn how to calculate your cost of doing business & set your pricing, as well as how to set and follow successful processes to support your pricing.
October 8 - How to get your business started
Learn about what kind of business to create (LLC, Sole Prop, etc) and make a checklist of what needs to be done to have a legal businesses entity.
October 15 - Marketing
Learn how to create a marketing strategy to attract your ideal client with a focus on current Instagram strategies and resources.
October 22 - Image Review and Portfolio Build
Have your images reviewed for strengths and areas for improvement, followed by a portfolio building photo session with model(s) for guided & independent practice and to create images for your portfolio.
